Campbell’s Nacho Cheese Dip / Soup

OK, after watching this advertisement from Campbell’s Soup, it’s arguably a bit lame and I think it was made in the 1980’s.  But, the ad clearly depicts many different ways that nacho cheese can be used to enhance the flavor or experience of meals.  It made my mouth water (except for the meat loaf).

While I’ve never tried this hybrid nacho cheese / soup, I’m certainly intrigued.  I’ll report back on my taste test when I can see if it’s still available somewhere.  If anyone out there has tried Campbell’s Nacho Cheese Dip / Soup, please leave a comment with your opinion.

[UPDATED Sept-2012]

While I haven’t been able to locate this exact product, Campbell’s does make something similar.  Here’s a link to Campbell’s Fiesta Nacho Cheese on

  1. Yummy! Here’s a crockpot recipe where I’ve actually used it.
    Nacho Cheesy Chicken
4 to 6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 can (about 1 lb) diced tomatoes in juice
    1 can campbell’s nacho cheese
1 can (4oz) mild chopped green chiles
    salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker/Crock Pot. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 9 hours. Serve with hot, boiled rice.
    Serves 4 to 6.

  2. I rember this was around 10-15 years ago.
We use to buy it at Tops in Niagara Falls, U.S.A.
We use to come from Niagara Falls, Canada to buy groceries sometimes.
    Have’nt seen it in years.
This was the best just as a dip for nachos.
Don’t add water, and just heat stirr and serve. It sort of taste like the Tostitos Cheese that you now buy in a jar for $3-$4.
I checked the cambells website, and they don’t say anything about it.
    Anyways, it was awsome stuff.

  3. My favorite quick serve nacho cheese EVER. They might still make it as it has always been a pain to find. Even my local Target that used to carry it no longer does. If you do find some, give it a try. It smells like dirty socks after a minute in the microwave so you know it’s good! 😉

  4. i grew up on this dip eating it every weekend i went to my aunts house and i cant find it any more it is really said because it is the only soup that i liked from campbells and no one carries nacho cheese dip anymore its all that grose salsa and cheese mix crap

  5. I live on the Canada/US border (British Columbia/Washington State) and I haven’t seen it in Canada (never looked for it though), but I was on the US side the other day and bought a can. Just tried it- much better than I expected! Definitely will buy again to keep as a last minute nacho sauce.
